Mutabaruka is a Jamaican Rastafarian dub poet, musician, actor, educator, and talk-show host. In his career, he developed two of Jamaica’s most popular radio programmes, The Cutting Edge and Stepping Razor. His musical career includes 14 albums and several historic live performances. Most recently, he was featured in a 2021 single, “Guns Navarone” by Sean Paul feat. Jesse Royal, Stonebwoy & Mutabaruka. Mutabaruka’s work is dedicated to politics, culture, social oppression, racism, sexism, religion, poverty, and Black liberation. In his conversation with INeverKnewTV, he discusses a plethora of topics, including religious history, Rastafari traditions, harmful religious beliefs, and much more. Mutabaruka largely reflects on the impacts of enslavement and Christianity on the current world order. Ultimately, his wisdom reminds our audience to think critically about their beliefs, cultures, and practices. Mutabaruka shares his knowledge in hopes of encouraging people to re-discover Black power through the context of spirituality, religion, and culture at large.
