Join I Never Knew Radio for a Special Tribute to Thomas Sankara – This Sunday, December 21st, 2025!

Thomas Sankara was a leader of Burkina Faso from 1983 to 1987. The country was once called Upper Volta. He wanted Africa to be strong and independent. People called him “Africa’s Che Guevara” because he stood up to powerful countries and believed Africans should help themselves. He lived simply, rode a bicycle, played the guitar, and owned very little. He worked to make his country self sufficient, support women, and rely less on help from the West.

We’ll be celebrating the legacy of Thomas Sankara by playing reggae music that reflects the spirit of his philosophy and vision.

Tune in this Sunday, December 21st, from 9 to 11 AM Est, and feel the power of Sankara’s words carried through the heartbeat of reggae.
