Groundings With Dr. Andre Haughton B.H.N.T.D Ep. 24

The mind of Andre Haughton goes way beyond that of the typical Jamaican citizen. At first glance, his title as an Economist and Politician may sound standard from a professional perspective, but his viewpoints and contribution exceeds his titles. Engaging him in a conversation is nothing short of phenomenal and relevant to every living human being who has even the slightest connection to Jamaica.

On the 24th episode of The BaldHead-N-The Dread Podcast, we sat with Dr. Andre Haughton to discuss why Jamaica’s currency is low, the importance of financial literacy, the ultimate reason why Jamaica does not invest in Reggae, livable wages and the wicked nature of the Jamaican government.

The ordinary Jamaican on the street usually see Economics as a complex subject matter that is handled exclusively by the government, not realizing the role they play in said economic situation of the country. Dr. Haughton’s short term vision is to see every man or woman discussing things such as GDP, ways to decrease their demand for foreign goods and other determinant factors that affect their progress as a people or a nation.

Overall, a nation with a weak economy can never truly advance, nor can they claim any sense of independence. A country such as Jamaica needs to apply various methods that can impact them positively, instead of just solely relying on Tourism to boost their ego. Jamaica has a lot of brilliant young minds such as Dr. Haughton, and it is full time that they utilize such talents before they all migrate and make a positive impact to other nations.
