In this reasoning Rastafari dub poet, musician, actor, educator, and radio host Mutabaruka speaks about the similarities between the famous nursery rhymes and bible stories. He argues both were made with the intention of providing lesson through allegory not to be accepted as historical events. Mutabaruka says, “When are we going to give up those little archaic beliefs and thinking and get down to the nitty gritty of it? The nitty gritty is that these stories are allegories! And if you do not understand what allegories are, go in the dictionary to look for it. In Galatians, Paul tells you about the allegories of Abraham. In other words, he is telling you that Abraham did not exist. It is just a story they are showing you that might have a greater meaning. So they use images to show the story. So when they say the allegory of Abraham, they are telling you that Abraham didn’t really exist ,but they are going to tell you a story about a man named Abraham.”
