Dr. Dorothy Holley | Groundings With My Brothers and Sisters

Dr. Dorothy Adamson Holley, aka Drum Dr. Dot, is a Developmental Psychologist and a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker who integrates psychology and spirituality in clinical practice. Dr. Holley has
over 30 years of experience working in the helping professions, and she specializes in working with
clients who have not responded well to traditional treatment models.

Dr. Holley also facilitates clinical/healing workshops and has shared her clinical expertise with practitioners across many clinical settings. Her passion for African culture and its continuity in the United States led to an enthusiastic study of African dance and drum, and she has performed locally, nationally, and internationally. 501c3 nonprofit organization that integrates the fields of mental health and the arts to promote
healing.

Dr. Holley is the creator of Drumetry™, an art form that integrates two of her passions,
African drumming and poetry. She is an author, recording artist, singer-songwriter, vocalist,
percussionist, dancer, harmonicist, and Healer Through Music. She has published 2 books: Talk
Therapy (Alone) is Not Enough: Creative Practices for Trauma Treatment and Drumetry: Drumming
with Poetry. Dr. Holley is a member of the Baltimore-based band, Roses n Rust, and she just released her 3rd album, UNBOXED!
